2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen

There is a surprisingly large faction of car buyers who don’t want “stuff.” I see it in my comments section all the time: “I don’t need…just more to go wrong, more I’ll have to fix, too complicated.” Well, this review is for those people: the VW Golf SportWagen. There’s no smart key, no push button start, no power liftgate, no full-power seats, no leather, no sat radio, no navi, no LED headlights, no sunroof, no USB ports in the rear, no adaptive cruise control. So those who prefer basic can rejoice because this VW offers up a whole lot of no for about $27k.

2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye

Because the Demon was a one and done and the Hellcat only made 707-horsepower, the crazy minds at Dodge SRT have birthed another Hellcat baby – the Redeye – making an outrageous 797 horsepower. I’ve loved my week with this car.  It’s a great mixture of serious performance and grandstanding theater like the cool names that Dodge gives everything, the Red key that unlocks the car’s full potential – they certainly know how to tell a story.    Any red-blooded American car nut would want this Challenger in their garage, just grab the Visine first. MSRP as-tested: $89,105

2019 Audi Q8 Review

A recent trend in the luxury SUV segment is to offer a sexier, coupe-like styled variant for those willing to compromise a little utility in favor of a heavier dose of sport. And some of the designs being born are absolutely stunning; for example, the all-new Audi Q8.
It’s a head turner as long as you don’t mind Audi’s recent penchant for faux exhaust outlets.  And if you can’t tell, I want one…I think it’s the best of this type currently on the market though I’ll be curious what the new BMW X6 has to say about that later this year.

2019 Mercedes Benz C 300 Cabriolet

It seemed like summer weather would never arrive but it’s finally here which means it’s convertible season. And which brand sells more top down models than any other? That’s right; Mercedes. And this one here is one of their most affordable. The refreshed C-Class Cabriolet. MSRP as-tested: $70,725. But instead of spending $70,725 on this one I’d step up to the AMG C 43 with its 385hp engine and a starting price in the mid-$60s. And for the real crazies, there’s the C 63 S Cabriolet with over 500 horsepower for about $85,000.
