2019 NISSAN MAXIMA QUICK TAKES

With its captivating performance stance, 19-inch diamond-cut wheels, boomerang signature LED lighting framing the enlarged V-motion grille, the new 2019 Nissan Maxima continues to build on its legacy as the flagship of Nissan’s sedan lineup. The mid-cycle Maxima refresh follows the introduction of the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima, creating a potent one-two punch in the mid-size sedan segment. While the 2019 Maxima exterior projects an enhanced sense of aggressive style, the heart and soul of Maxima remains its 300-horsepower 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine and performance-oriented Xtronic transmission. The engine applies lessons learned from the Nissan GT-R, such as sodium filled valves, to achieve a high specific output of 85.7 horsepower/liter. Torque is rated at 261 lb-ft.
The 2019 Maxima is available in five well-equipped models: Maxima S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum.

2019 TOYOTA 86 GT QUICK TAKES

You can’t do much better for lineage than the legendary Toyota 2000 GT. 86 took design inspiration from the iconic sports car, which shows in its low roof height, flowing front fenders, and sleek profile. The rest is all 21st century with LED front headlamps, daylight running lights, turn signals, and tail lamps.
Also thoroughly modern is 86’s athleticism. Its 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder engine, fed by Toyota’s D-4S Dual Injection System, delivers a healthy dose of 205 hp and 156 lb.-ft. of torque with the six-speed manual transmission (200 hp and 151 lb.-ft. of torque with the six-speed automatic).
