TOYOTA SIENNA 2017 FIRST LOOK
TOYOTA SIENNA 2017 FIRST LOOK BY AUTO CRITIC STEVE HAMMES
The Toyota Sienna is the only minivan in the segment to offer all-wheel drive…a big sell for families in the Snow Belt. And now it also packs more heat, upping its “Swagger Wagon” persona.
The 2017 Sienna is injected with an additional 30 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque thanks to its new 3.5-liter V6 with Toyota’s latest fuel injection system.
To accompany its newfound power are an extra 2 cogs for the automatic transmission. With 8 speeds to more effectively and efficiently handle the 296 horsepower, the 2017 Sienna accelerates more quickly, passes more effortlessly and delivers better gas mileage, particularly on the highway.
The front-wheel drive Sienna is rated at 19mpg city/27mpg highway while all-wheel drive models check-in at 18mpg city/24mpg highway. Towing maximum is rated at 3,500 pounds.
Available in 7- and 8-seat configurations in 5 grade levels ranging from L to limited, the 2017 Sienna is priced from $30,690 including destination.
The SE trim continues to be aimed at those looking for even more style and sportiness with a specifically tuned suspension and 19” wheels while the range-topping Limited Premium adds features such as rain-sensing wipers, a leatherette-trimmed Split & Stow 3rd Row seat and the Dual-View Blu-Ray DVD Entertainment Center.
When equipped with all-wheel drive, this luxurious model stickers for $48,250.
