2014 Honda Civic – First Look

How serious is Honda about ensuring the Civic’s success?  After its complete redesign in 2012, it was completely refreshed last year and even more upgrades greet this new 2014 model.  With a more aggressive grille, fender, hood and headlight design, the Honda Civic Coupe sports new exterior styling.  And to go with the new look is an extra helping of performance, including revised suspension tuning for improved handling, a freer breathing exhaust system raising output to 143 horsepower and new steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. And say goodbye to the 5-speed automatic transmission – it’s been replaced with a new CVT in both the Coupe and Sedan, improving gas mileage to 30mpg city and 33mpg combined.  As it pertains to the performance Si model, both the coupe and sedan get revised suspension tuning while power is boosted to 205 horsepower via a retuned exhaust system.  Additionally, there is a host of exterior design changes promoting a more aggressive look.  Pricing starts at under $19,000 for a Civic Coupe LX and peaks at about $25,000 for a Sedan EX-L with navigation.
