2016 Honda HR-V FIRST LOOK
2016 Honda HR-V FIRST LOOK
Honda continues to expand its small car lineup with the addition of the first-ever 2016 HR-V – a compact crossover utility vehicle built upon the company’s Fit architecture. And just like that multidimensional car, the HR-V flaunts voluminous interior space with a flexible cabin featuring multiple seating and cargo modes. Small on the outside but big on the inside is the HR-V’s hallmark trait. Its coupe-like cabin shape with concealed rear door handles gives it a dynamic appearance foretelling the HR-V’s intended fun-to-drive performance. Power stems from the Civic’s engine bay and not the Fit’s Earth Dreams motor – a 1.8-liter SOHC 4-cylinder making 138 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. Two-wheel drive models can be specified with a 6-speed manual transmission while all-wheel drive models come standard with Honda’s excellent CVT. Available in LX, EX and EX-L trims, all HR-Vs include a rearview camera, alloy wheels, Bluetooth and Pandora internet radio. Higher trim models can be ordered with premium features such as navigation, leather trim and push button start. Honda calls it a youthful yet refined personal crossover vehicle – the sporty and value-packed new member of the Honda family with seating up to 5, promising class-leading fuel economy.
