Now moving into its sophomore season, the 2015 Lexus IS is the brand’s entry-level compact sedan with various degrees of sporting intentions, ranging from the IS 250 RWD priced at about $37,000 to the IS 350 AWD starting at nearly $43,000. And available on all of them is the F SPORT Package. Here on this IS 350 it includes a Drive Mode Select System with 2 additional settings; SPORT S and SPORT S+, affecting the Adaptive Variable Suspension for greater performance and handling characteristics. Furthering that cause are unique 18” wheels, special suspension tuning, LED headlamps and an enhanced athletic appearance including the deletion of the fog lamps. And because aural acuity is an important part of the go-faster experience, F SPORT models include an intake sound generator to create a more sporting engine note. The treatment doesn’t end on the outside. New for 2015, the sport seats are now heated and ventilated and AWD models benefit from a heated steering wheel. Aluminum pedals, a black headliner, LFA-inspired instrumentation, silver trim and a leather steering wheel and shift knob complete the look. The IS 250 makes 204 horsepower from its 2.5-liter V6 while the IS 350 tops 300 horsepower from a 3.5-liter engine, mated to 6-speed and 8-speed automatic transmissions, respectively.
