2014 Scion tC – First Look
2014 Scion tC – First Look: Accounting for 40% of all Scions sold, the tC sports coupe is extensively refreshed for the 2014 model year. More assertive styling, a more convenient cabin with upgraded materials and new audio systems, an updated 6-speed automatic transmission and enhanced dynamic handling elevate the tC’s appeal. An all-new hood with new upper and lower grille treatments is accented by LED lighting. Beneath the rear bumper is an FR-S style black-out valence while LED tail lamps complete the look. New 18” wheels feature a dark gray finish and are located with optimized shock absorbers and underpin a more rigid body. The tC’s sporty driving demeanor is further enhanced by retuned electronic power steering and an optional automatic transmission that can change gears nearly twice as fast as the previous model. A 6-speed manual can also be had to work the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder’s 179 horsepower. Gas mileage is the same either way, rated at 23mpg city/31mpg highway. Pricing starts at just under $20,000.
