2016 Nissan Titan FIRST LOOK
2016 Nissan Titan XD FIRST LOOK
There’s no tougher segment in which to compete than full-size trucks. But Nissan is about to shake things up once again with the 2nd generation Titan – the long awaited redux to the brand’s 2004 original. Though the new Titan offers 3 cab configurations, 2 frame sizes, three powertrain offerings and 5 grade levels, the biggest, baddest rig of the bunch is the Titan XD. This is the pickup that bridges the gap between a half-ton and heavy duty. With max towing of more than 12,000 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,000 pounds, the Titan XD utilizes the strength of a Cummins 5.0-liter Turbo Diesel to deliver the added capability while preserving fuel efficiency. A 6-speed auto handles the gears. With a wheelbase about 20” longer than non-XD Titan models, this truck’s focus on commercial strength components is what sets it apart. Durable off-road performance has also been emphasized. And inside, Nissan developed a cabin where power and comfort easily co-exist with a style inspired by outdoor gear such as quilted hunting jackets. An American truck, the Titan is assembled in Mississippi with engines built in Indiana and Tennessee.
