2015 Dodge Charger SRT 392 FIRST LOOK
While much of the focus with Charger centers on the amazing 707-horsepower supercharged Hellcat, there’s another recently introduced SRT model that’s more attainable and nearly every bit as exciting.
It’s the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT 392 – stuffed with the company’s big HEMI – the 6.4-liter V8, uprated to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. Its output is controlled via an 8-speed, heavy-duty TorqueFlite automatic transmission with rev matching for expertly engaged downshifts. All-new drive modes ranging from Eco to Track control horsepower, shift speeds, traction and suspension to provide a personalized driving experience. Launch control is standard enhanced by a higher-strength driveshaft and rear axle. Three-mode adaptive damping Bilstein shocks, optional ultra-high performance 20” tires and the largest brakes Brembo manufacturers in North America round out the 392’s critical components. The Charger’s re-sculpted body refines nearly every panel including heat extractors in the hood and shines with new LED lighting. New interior elements invite an SRT 3-spoke, flat bottom wheel, a 7” digital gauge cluster, Nappa leather and Alcantara suede seating, more premium materials and 4 new trim and color combinations. Pricing starts at $48,380.
