2014 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line – First Look

Volkswagen describes their compact sport-utility vehicle as having the soul of a GTI.  And to further accentuate that notion, VW is offering the 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan with the R-Line exterior and interior package.  Priced from $37,745 for a front-drive model, the Tiguan R-Line is the most dynamic and sport-focused trim in the 4 model lineup.  19” wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber connect the road through a sport suspension and are directed through a flat bottomed leather-wrapped steering wheel which includes paddle shifters for the 6-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and dynamic shift program.  Black wheelarch extensions, R-Line roof spoiler, body-color side skirts and Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights complete the look.  Luxuriously appointed, the Tiguan R-Line also adds leather surfaces, power front seats with driver’s side memory, stainless steel pedals, a black headliner and other niceties.  All models derive power from VW’s 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 200 horsepower and can be equipped with 4Motion all-wheel drive.  Gas mileage on premium is rated at 23mpg combined.
