MASERATI CONTINUES GROWTH AFTER DEBUT OF GRANTURISMO MC CENTENNIAL EDITION MODELS
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ — Completing a month that saw the global debut of the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition Range at the New York International Auto Show, Maserati continued to demonstrate sustained success. With an increase of 373% over April, 2013, Maserati North America continued its streak of year over year triple digit growth streak to eleven months. Once again the most accessible Maserati, the Ghibli sport sedan, was the strongest contributor, demonstrating a thirst in the market for a unique Italian offering. Progress has also continued in the retail network, which saw three new additions to new markets, bringing the total network across North America to 86 locations.
“A unique, high quality product range, matched to a motivated network is central to our success. As we reach into new high-potential markets, we encounter a taste for the Italian style and performance which defines Maserati. With the new GranTurismo models which celebrate our Centennial, our expansion efforts will continue” commented Peter M. Grady, President and Chief Executive Officer, Maserati North America, Inc.
About the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition Range:
Powered by the revered 454 horsepower, 4.7 liter V8, the Centennial Edition GranTurismo Coupe and Convertible will also perform for the eye with three special new ‘three-layer’ color schemes in addition to the four already available for the GranTurismo MC. There is a wide choice of wheels, with four special finishes for the MC and Trofeo designs. At the center of the wheels appears the medal-shaped centenary logo, itself available in two finishes, matte Smoke grey and Charcoal grey. Inside the cabin, the black leather of the seats, dashboard and steering wheel is strikingly offset by the red, white and blue of the full-length seat profiles and by stitching in a color that mimics that of the laser engraved details on the wheels. Carbon fiber fittings on the dashboard, seat surrounds and a kick panel where the celebratory centenary logo takes pride of place, reminds occupants of the timeless Maserati tradition. The GranTurismo MC Centennial Editon range will be available alongside the current line-up with sales due to begin in July 2014.
About the Maserati Ghibli:
First unveiled to the U.S. in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Ghibli is Maserati’s first-ever mid-size four-door luxury sports sedan vehicle. Available with all-wheel-drive and starting at $66,900, the Ghibli is powered by a Ferrari-built twin-turbo V6 engine capable of over four hundred horsepower. Advanced suspension, Brembo brakes and extensive use of aluminum ensure comfort, with an ease of performance ready when called upon. Within its striking aerodynamic silhouette, the cabin offers rich Italian leathers, woods and other high quality materials at the heart of the Maserati brand. The Ghibli upholds the tradition, luxury and performance that have marked the brand for a century at a more accessible price point, which is expected to open the brand up to new buyers. The Ghibli can be experienced via an App, which features the style and capability of the car itself, available at: http://bit.ly/1eubvKs.
