2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe First Look:

 

The CL has long been Mercedes’ flagship coupe and is one of their rarest models.  Now for 2015, the supreme 2-door has undergone a name change for its next generation – this is the S-Class Coupe.  Based upon the iconic sedan, this large, sporty coupe continues to pioneer and is a showcase for the latest Mercedes-Benz technologies, such as PRE-SAFE Brake with Pedestrian Detection.  Adding to the car’s sensuality are available headlamps with 47 Swarovski crystals.  It also features a standard panorama roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL making it possible to switch the transparency from light to dark with a push of a button.  As a world first for a series-production car, the S-Class Coupe’s Intelligent Drive system integrates an active curve tilting function, leaning into bends much like a motorcyclist, providing greater ride comfort on country roads.  Utilizing a 4.7-liter V8 Biturbo engine rated at 449-horsepower and 516 pound feet of torque, the Coupe is available exclusively with 4Matic all-wheel drive.  The bolder S63 AMG 4Matic Coupe elevates those numbers through a 5.5-liter V8 making 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque.
