2014 Ram Power Wagon – First Look
2014 Ram Power Wagon – First Look:
There are light-duty pickup trucks designed for hauling your big box goods back to your house and then there are those like the new 2014 Ram Power Wagon; a heavy duty rig with a number of off-road specific enhancements to maximize capability. Based on the Ram 2500 4X4 Crew Cab, the Power Wagon includes a unique suspension with more than 2” of lift, locking differentials and a 12,000-pound winch. Though it appears similar to a regular Ram Heavy Duty on the outside, the 2014 Power Wagon incorporates a new frame, smooth riding coil rear suspension and a host of off-road technology backed by the company’s biggest HEMI – a 6.4-liter V-8 making 410 horsepower and uniquely tuned for off-road finesse. New 33” Goodyear Wrangler Duratec tires do the 4X4 work and a 6-speed automatic transmission is standard. With an eye-opening 14.5” of ground clearance, the Power Wagon has the height to tackle severe inclines and declines as well as fording up to 30” of water. Available in Tradesman, SLT and Laramie trims, the Power Wagon is priced from $45,690 and is backed by a 5-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty.
