2014 Lexus GX 460 – First Look
2014 Lexus GX 460 – First Look:
The familial spindle grille has found its way to the face of the redesigned 7-passenger 2014 Lexus GX 460 – just one of many enhancements made to the luxury marque’s off-road go-getter. Other new features include a multimedia system highlighted by an 8” touch screen display, an available blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, standard trailer sway control and a number of new wood trims. And in this 2 model lineup, the top-level GX formally known as the Premium is now called the Luxury. With the full panoply of advanced off-road chassis control systems, the GX 460 may exude uptown finesse but it’s not afraid to flaunt its 4X4 low-range, Crawl Control and locking center differential either. Balancing that kind of capability with the GX’s other, softer side is the same KDSS suspension found on the mighty Lexus LX…a sway bar system designed to allow for maximum wheel articulation off-road while providing confident cornering on-road. Power stems from a 4.6-liter, 301-horsepower V8 and 6-speed transmission. Gas mileage is rated at 15mpg city/20mpg highway. As for comfort and convenience, you can kick back and enjoy the sounds from the 17-speak Mark Levinson Audio System, watch a movie on the Rear Seat dual screens or haul cargo with the flexibility of standard power fold-flat 3rd row seats and foldable and reclining 2nd row seats with a 60/40 walk-in function. MSRP of the GX 460 is $49,995 while the Luxury starts at $61,625.
