2014 Infiniti Q50 – First Look
What once was the G37 is now the all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50; Infiniti’s premium midsize sedan available in rear or all-wheel drive configurations. Infiniti has declared that the Q50 sets the fresh design, performance and technology direction for the entire brand. Powertrain choices consist of a 3.7-liter V6 and 3.5-liter Hybrid. The gas engine delivers improved fuel economy, rated at 20mpg city/29mpg highway on premium. Both are matched with an advanced 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The optional Direct Adaptive Steering – a steer by wire innovation with a backup mechanical system – is a breakthrough in the segment and designed to transmit the driver’s intentions to the wheels faster. The Q50 is a sports sedan and as such promises precise handling backed by 328 horsepower and an available sport-tuned suspension on S models. Another first is the InTuition system; a fully customizable digital environment that recognizes vehicle settings for to 4 different drivers. Starting with the Q50 3.7 priced at about $38,000 the model range is 10 cars wide including AWD, Premium, Sport and Hybrid variants.
