2015 Ford Transit – First Look

Providing professional tradesmen and commercial fleet customers with a new option, the all-new 2015 Ford Transit eventually replaces the E-Series nameplate, America’s best-selling commercial van for 33 years.  Revolutionary changes mean the Transit achieves 25% better fuel economy and can haul at least 300 pounds more than the outgoing van.  Ford’s goal for the Transit: superior cargo hauling and people moving capabilities combined with best-in-class fuel economy.  Providing the precise combination and configuration the full-size van buyer requires, the Transit is available in multiple lengths and roof heights with rear doors that open 270 degrees for easy access.  The interior features LED lighting and is designed for easy upfit or racks, bins and shelving while the largest passenger version can carry up to 15 people.  Touch screen navigation with SYNC and MyFord Touch are also available.  Power is derived from a new assortment of engines, including a 3.7-liter V6 optimized to run on E85, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost or an all-new 3.2-liter 5-cylinder diesel option all working the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic.
