2014 Acura MDX
The 3rd generation of Acura’s seven-passenger luxury performance SUV is here. According to Acura, the all-new 2014 MDX has been developed on the image of an “Executive Family Jet” – sleek and refined, prestigious and powerful, and designed to deliver on the unique performance and functional needs of the luxury SUV driver and passengers. In designing the new MDX, Acura engineers focused on three core values: class-leading fuel economy ratings; new levels of prestige and luxury comfort; and top-level safety performance. At the same time, they sought to further enhance the MDX’s dynamic performance while maintaining its core appeal – the family-friendly, seven-passenger cabin and nimble, mid-size SUV exterior size and appearance. Two inches longer than before with a rear step-in height lowered by nearly 2”, the second-row seats now have five-position reclining seatbacks, and a new Extended Slide feature provides 5.9 inches of total fore-aft seat travel, enabling greater flexibility in accommodating the needs of both second- and third-row passengers. A new One-Touch Walk-In feature makes for easier operation of the second row seats. Power stems from a 3.5-liter V6 making 290 horsepower mated to a 6-speed automatic. New for 2014, a front-drive MDX can be specified or as before Acura’s Super Handling All-WheelDrive is offered. Faster and more efficient returning an EPA rated 18mpg city/27mpg highway with all-wheel drive, the MDX is also lighter and more nimble. Pricing starts near $43,000 with an MDX AWD with the Advance & Entertainment Packages comes in at over $57,000.
