Biotelemetry Revs Inside Race Car Driver’s Body

TV Viewers To Get New Experience During the 24 Hours of Daytona

January 24, 2015 – Daytona Beach, FL  Real-time biotelemetry technology will allow the television audience for the very first time get a view from inside the race car driver’s body displaying his pulse, stress and vital statistics.

IMG_0725 IMG_0729 “Unless you are belted into the car, there is no better way to experience motorsports”, says Dr. Terry Lyles who is pioneering the use of the new technology with race drivers.  Lyles, holds a Ph.D. in psychology and is an internationally recognized expert in human performance, stress management and life coaching. With long track record of coaching race car drivers to professional athletes, and corporate executives to military pilots, Lyles integrates his unique expertise along with cutting edge-technology into the world of motorsports. “Biotelemetry offers an entirely new dimension to race coverage and enhances the fan experience” adds Lyles.

IMG_0727IMG_0726Until now viewers have relied solely on mechanical telemetry data from the race car, but that is only a small part of the story. The most important part of any race car is its driver.  From the first green flag to the final checker flag, these super athletes are pushed to their physical and mental limits. Now Lyles will use the real-time human telemetry data to share and interpret the driver’s actual body performance during race coverage for the 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend at Daytona International Speedway.  He will be located at VisitFlorida.com Race Team’s pit and garage.
