Call it a minivan if you like, but Kia would rather you think of the all-new 2015 Sedona as a multi-purpose vehicle. Either way, it’s a 7- or 8-passenger people hauler with sliding doors and a focus on convenience. But aspiring to transcend the stereotypes of the segment, this Sedona has been designed to emulate the wide, modern stance of a CUV with improved driving dynamics and an interior with segment-leading new technology and upscale features. Though the Sedona’s overall width and height remain virtually unchanged, engineers cleverly expanded front shoulder room and leg room in all rows. Slide-n-Stow 2^nd row seats fold upright to allow for “on-the-go” cargo hauling while the optional “First Class” lounge seating can be positioned rearward for exceptional stretch-out room with retractable leg rests. Built around an all-new chassis, the Sedona receives a stiffer body, Amplitude Selected Dampers for improved ride comfort and handling and more sound deadening techniques for a quieter ride. For power, Kia replaces the 3.5-liter V6 with their direct-injected 3.3-liter engine found in the Sorento and Cadenza. Mated to a 6-speed automatic, it produces more power than before, rated at 276 horses. Active and passive safety features have been given priority with the full array of driver technologies available.
