2015 Ford F-150 – First Look
As the auto industry remains focused on improving fuel efficiency Ford is raising the stakes even further. The all-new 2015 F-150 pickup truck is trading in some of its heavy steel for lightweight aluminum extracting up to 700 pounds from the previous model. The result is a rig that can tow more, haul more, accelerate quicker and stop shorter. Gas mileage not only benefits from the weight loss but from smarter tech, as well. A new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop and standard Active Grille Shutters is a game changer in the full-size segment. Additional engines include a 3.5-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost and a 5.0-liter V8. Pushing the envelope of truck smartness, the 2015 F-150 introduces a 360-degree camera view, integrated loading ramps, BoxLink bed organization, LED lighting, trailer hitch assist, a remote tailgate, high-wattage power outlets and a next generation tailgate step. Five primary trims are available: XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum and King Ranch while the FX4 off-road package can be added to most 4-wheel drive models improving trail capability.
