2015 Dodge Challenger – First Look
2015 Dodge Challenger – First Look:
Could there be a better way to celebrate the Dodge brand’s 100th anniversary then with a new Challenger? The most retro-looking of the American muscle cars, this 2015 Challenger goes even deeper than its 1971-inspired design with a re-engineered powertrain, an upgraded suspension, a bevy of modern technologies and a completely new interior. Grabbing the loudest headline is the all-new Scat Pack 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, harking back to similar performance stage kits offered from 1968-71. The Scat Pack Shaker models pump out a tire smoking 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque capable of turning in a launch controlled 0-to-60mph time in the mid 4-second range and a low 12-second quarter mile time. Other features include a deep, throaty exhaust, Brembo front brakes, performance suspension, selectable steering system and all-new 20” wheels shod in performance tires. A special Scat Pack appearance group adds ever more eye candy and special interior amenities. But if that’s more Challenger than you need, R/T models can still be had with a 5.7-liter HEMI while the 305 horsepower Pentastar V-6 – now standard with an 8-speed automatic – still provides lively performance with improved efficiency. V8 models can be had with an 8-speed auto or with a 6-speed manual. An all-new UConnect system and 14 all-new interiors with new retro colors highlight the more quality-driven cabin design.
